εἰς τὸν ναυτίλον τοῦτον φέρεταί τι Καλλιμάχου τοῦ Κυρηναίου ἐπίγραμμα οὕτως ἔχον· κόγχος ἐγώ, Ζεφυρῖτι, πάλαι τέρας. ἀλλὰ σὺ νῦν με, Κύπρι, Σεληναίης ἄνθεμα πρῶτον ἔχεις, ναυτίλος ὃς πελάγεσσιν ἐπέπλεον, εἰ μὲν ἀῆται, τείνας οἰκείων λαῖφος ἀπὸ προτόνων, εἰ δὲ Γαληναίη, λιπαρὴ θεός, οὖλος ἐρέσσων ποσσί νιν, ὥστʼ ἔργῳ τοὔνομα συμφέρεται, ἔστʼ ἔπεσον παρὰ θῖνας Ἰουλίδας, ὄφρα γένωμαι σοὶ τὸ περίσκεπτον παίγνιον, Ἀρσινόη, μηδέ μοι ἐν θαλάμῃσιν ἔθʼ, ὡς πάρος, (εἰμὶ γὰρ ἄπνους), τίκτηται νοτερῆς ὤεον ἁλκυόνης. Κλεινίου ἀλλὰ θυγατρὶ δίδου χάριν· οἶδε γὰρ ἐσθλὰ ῥέζειν καὶ Σμύρνης ἐστὶν ἀπʼ Αἰολίδος. ἔγραψε δὲ καὶ Ποσείδιππος εἰς τὴν ἐν τῷ Ζεφυρίῳ τιμωμένην ταύτην Ἀφροδίτην τόδε τὸ ἐπίγραμμα· τοῦτο καὶ ἐν πόντῳ καὶ ἐπὶ χθονὶ τῆς Φιλαδέλφου Κύπριδος ἱλάσκεσθʼ ἱερὸν Ἀρσινόης, ἣν ἀνακοιρανέουσαν ἐπὶ Ζεφυρίτιδος ἀκτῆς πρῶτος ναύαρχος θήκατο Καλλικράτης. δὲ καὶ εὐπλοΐην δώσει καὶ χείματι μέσσῳ τὸ πλατὺ λισσομένοις ἐκλιπανεῖ πέλαγος. τοῦ πολύποδος μνημονεύει καὶ τραγικὸς Ἴων ἐν Φοίνικι λέγων· καὶ τὸν πετραῖον πλεκτάναις ἀναίμοσι στυγῶ μεταλλακτῆρα πουλύπουν χροός.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
