λευκερινεὼς δέ τι εἶδός ἐστι συκῆς, καὶ ἴσως αὕτη ἐστὶν τὰ λευκὰ σῦκα φέρουσα. μνημονεύει δʼ αὐτῆς Ἕρμιππος ἐν Ἰάμβοις οὕτως· τὰς λευκερινεὼς δὲ χωρὶς ἰσχάδας. τῶν δʼ ἐρινῶν σύκων Εὐριπίδης ἐν Σκίρωνι· προσπηγνύναι κράδαις ἐριναῖς. καὶ Ἐπίχαρμος ἐν Σφιγγί· ἀλλʼ οὐχ ὅμοιά γʼ ἐρινοῖς οὐδαμῶς. Σοφοκλῆς δʼ ἐν Ἑλένης Γάμῳ τροπικῶς τῷ τοῦ δένδρου ὀνόματι τὸν καρπὸν ἐκάλεσεν εἰπών· πέπων ἐρινὸς ... ἀχρεῖος ὢν ἐς βρῶσιν ἄλλους ἐξερινάζεις λόγῳ. πέπων δʼ ἐρινὸς εἴρηκεν ἀντὶ τοῦ πέπον ἐρινόν. καὶ Ἄλεξις ἐν Λέβητι· καὶ τί δεῖ λέγειν ἔθʼ ἡμᾶς τοὺς τὰ σῦχʼ ἑκάστοτε ἐν τοῖς συρίχοις πωλοῦντας; οἳ κάτωθε μὲν τὰ σκληρὰ καὶ μοχθηρὰ τῶν σύκων ἀεὶ τιθέασιν, ἐπιπολῆς δὲ πέπονα καὶ καλά. εἶθʼ μὲν ἔδωκεν ὡς τοιαῦτʼ ὠνούμενος τιμήν, δʼ ἐγκάψας τὸ κέρμʼ εἰς τὴν γνάθον ἐρίνʼ ἀπέδοτο σῦκα πωλεῖν ὀμνύων. τὸ δὲ δένδρον ἀγρία συκῆ, ἐξ ἧς τὰ ἐρινά, ἐρινὸς κατὰ τὸ ἄρρεν λέγεται. Στράττις Τρωίλῳ· ἐρινὸν οὖν τινʼ αὐτῆς πλησίον νενόηκας ὄντα; καὶ Ὅμηρος· τῷ δʼ ἐν ἐρινεός ἐστι μέγας φύλλοισι τεθηλώς. Ἀμερίας δʼ ἐρινάδας καλεῖσθαι τοὺς ὀλόνθους.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
