Λυσίας δὲ ῥήτωρ περὶ τῆς τρυφῆς αὐτοῦ λέγων φησίν· ἐκπλεύσαντες γὰρ κοινῇ Ἀξίοχος καὶ Ἀλκιβιάδης εἰς Ἑλλήσποντον ἔγημαν ἐν Ἀβύδῳ δύο ὄντε Μεδοντίδα τὴν Ἀβυδηνὴν καὶ ξυνῳκείτην. ἔπειτα αὐτοῖν γίνεται θυγάτηρ, ἣν οὐκ ἔφαντο δύνασθαι γνῶναι ὁποτέρου εἴη. ἐπεὶ δὲ ἦν ἀνδρὸς ὡραία, ξυνεκοιμῶντο καὶ ταύτῃ, καὶ εἰ μὲν χρῷτο καὶ ἔχοι Ἀλκιβιάδης, Ἀξιόχου ἔφασκεν εἶναι θυγατέρα· εἰ δὲ Ἀξίοχος, Ἀλκιβιάδου. κεκωμῴδηται δὲ καὶ ὑπὸ Εὐπόλιδος ὡς καὶ ἀκόλαστος πρὸς γυναῖκας ἐν Κόλαξιν οὕτως· Ἀλκιβιάδης ἐκ τῶν γυναικῶν ἐξίτω. Β. τί ληρεῖς οὐκ οἴκαδʼ ἐλθὼν τὴν σεαυτοῦ γυμνάσεις δάμαρτα; καὶ Φερεκράτης δέ φησιν· οὐκ ὢν ἀνὴρ γὰρ Ἀλκιβιάδης, ὡς δοκεῖ, ἀνὴρ ἁπασῶν τῶν γυναικῶν ἐστι νῦν. ἐν Σπάρτῃ δὲ ὢν ἔφθειρε τὴν Ἄγιδος τοῦ βασιλέως γυναῖκα Τίμαιαν. ἐπιπληττόντων δʼ αὐτῷ τινων οὐκ ἀκρασίας ἕνεκεν συνελθεῖν ἔφη, ἀλλʼ ἵνα γενόμενος ἐξ αὐτοῦ βασιλεύσῃ τε τῆς Σπάρτης καὶ μηκέτι λέγωνται οἱ βασιλεῖς ἀφʼ Ἡρακλέους ἀλλʼ ἀπʼ Ἀλκιβιάδου. στρατηγῶν δὲ συμπεριήγετο αὑτῷ τήν τε Λαίδος τῆς Κορινθίας μητέρα Τιμάνδραν καὶ Θεοδότην τὴν Ἀττικὴν ἑταίραν.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.
