πρότερον δέ μοι λελέξεται περὶ τοῦ ζωρότερον. Ἀντιφάνης Μελανίωνι· τοῦτον ἐγὼ κρίνω μετανιπτρίδα τῆς Ὑγιείας πίνειν ζωροτέρῳ χρώμενον οἰνοχόῳ. ἐν δὲ Λάμπωνι· δεῖνʼ Ἰᾶπυξ, κέρασον εὐζωρέστερον. Ἔφιππος Ἐφήβοις· φιάλην ἑκατέρᾳ ἔδωκε κεράσας ζωρότερον Ὁμηρικῶς. τινὲς δὲ καὶ τὸ παρʼ Ὁμήρῳ ζωρότερον δὲ κέραιρε οὐκ ἄκρατον σημαίνειν φασίν, ἀλλὰ θερμόν, ἀπὸ τοῦ ζωτικοῦ καὶ τῆς ζέσεως· ἑταίρων γὰρ παρόντων νέον ἐξ ὑπαρχῆς κεράννυσθαι κρατῆρα οὐκ ἄτοπον. ἄλλοι δὲ τὸ εὔκρατον, ὥσπερ τὸ δεξιτερὸν ἀντὶ τοῦ δεξιοῦ. τινὲς δέ, ἐπεὶ οἱ ἐνιαυτοὶ ὧροι λέγονται καὶ τὸ ζα ὅτι μέγεθος πλῆθος σημαίνει, ζωρὸν τὸν πολυέτη λέγεσθαι. Δίφιλος δʼ ἐν Παιδερασταῖς φησιν· ἔγχεον σὺ δὴ πιεῖν. Β. εὐζωρότερόν γε νὴ Δίʼ, παῖ, δός· τὸ γὰρ ὑδαρὲς ἅπαν τοῦτʼ ἐστι τῇ ψυχῇ κακόν. Θεόφραστος δʼ ἐν τῷ περὶ μέθης ζωρότερόν φησιν εἶναι τὸ κεκραμένον, παρατιθέμενος Ἐμπεδοκλέους τάδε· αἶψα δὲ θνητὰ φύοντο, τὰ πρὶν μάθον ἀθάνατʼ εἶναι, ζωρά τε τὰ πρὶν ἄκρητα, διαλλάσσοντα κελεύθους.

CTS URN Retriever

The Digital Athenaeus is providing the text of the Teubner edition of the Deipnosophists by Georg Kaibel (1887-1890), which is cataloged as perseus-grc2 in the Perseus Catalog.

The syntax of the URNs follows the specification of the CITE Architecture.

Using CTS URNs, it is possible to export citations of the Deipnosophists down to the word level. By selecting a portion of text holding down the ALT-key, users get a pop-up window with the CTS URN that identifies the selected chunk of text.
